12 Everyday Uses for Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has a plethora of beneficial applications.

Here are 12 quick and easy ways to utilise it for natural cleaning, beauty, and overall wellness.

Tea tree essential oil was one of the first essential oils that most people experimented with.

Tea Tree Essential Oil: How to Use It

Topically

Tea tree oil may be applied to the skin in two ways: neat (undiluted) and diluted.
If you have sensitive skin, dilute tea tree oil in a carrier oil such as coconut oil.
If you're using it on children, we recommend diluting the oil and applying it on the soles of their feet.

Aromatically

Tea tree oil is an excellent essential oil to diffuse aromatically (unless you have cats, in which case keep tea tree oil away from them).

Because of its antibacterial and antifungal qualities, this is an excellent method of air purification.

Tea Tree Essential Oil Has 12 Applications

1. Infections of the Ears

Tea tree essential oil is my favourite natural remedy for ear infections.
We only get a few ear infections in our house anymore, but when they do occur, we suggest applying 1-2 drops of tea tree essential oil to the base of the ear every 2-3 hours.

2. Skin Infections Caused by Fungi

Tea tree essential oil has potent antifungal properties and can be used as a therapeutic agent for fungal skin illnesses such as ringworm and Candida.
For increased antifungal potency, dilute 5-6 drops in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and massage over the illness several times each day.

3. Pimples

To get rid of acne faster, use a drop of tea tree essential oil to the affected region 2-3 times a day.

4. Decontamination

Tea tree essential oil has antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, and antiseptic properties, making it an excellent addition to DIY cleaning solutions.

5. Toothache

Tea tree oil is also analgesic, which means it relieves pain.
For a toothache, blend 1 drop of tea tree essential oil in 4 oz of warm water and swirl it around in your mouth several times each day.
(Add 1 drop of clove essential oil for extra pain relief.)
Avoid swallowing.

6. Athlete's Foot

Tea tree essential oil can be used alone or in a mixture to treat athlete's foot.

You can apply the essential oil to your feet undiluted, but we believe that combining 5-6 drops with 1 tbsp of antifungal coconut oil would be preferable.

When you start waking up and while you go to bed, massage into clean feet.

7. Cold Sores/Canker Sores

Dab 1-2 drops of tea tree essential oil in 1 teaspoon carrier oil on the sore many times per day.

8. Eczema

To soothe the skin, dilute 1-2 drops of tea tree essential oil in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and rub it into the afflicted region several times each day.

9. Fungus on the Nails

Tea tree essential oil is an excellent antifungal that may be used topically to treat nail infections.
Apply one drop of essential oil on the problematic nail(s) and massage it in.

10. Warts

Because warts may be so difficult to remove, we recommend putting a drop of tea tree essential oil to the wart many times a day (undiluted if possible) until the wart is gone.

11. Rashes

Dabbing a dab of tea tree essential oil on the rash would relieve the itching and, after a few applications, would cause it to disappear significantly.
We recommend using a drop.
